FIRM HISTORY

McAloon & Friedman’s origins date back to 1946. Stanley Friedman, a founding partner, was a trailblazer in the field of medical malpractice defense. A dedicated and creative lawyer of extraordinary talent, Mr. Friedman was known for his ability to deeply analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the most complex cases, guide the defense, determine the best strategies, and obtain the most favorable outcomes for his clients.

Beginning in the 1980s, McAloon & Friedman expanded to address the dramatic increase in medical malpractice claims in New York State and the needs of medical professionals for high quality, aggressive legal representation. The firm added several experienced trial lawyers to keep pace with the demands of the field, and its trial force continued to grow in numbers and depth of experience. The firm’s client-centric philosophy was reinforced and fine-tuned.

The firm grew to more than 40 lawyers and solidified its place as one of the strongest and most sought-after defense litigation firms in the metropolitan area. A recognized leader in medical malpractice defense, the firm has a long-standing record of successful trial verdicts and summary judgment motions and excels in settlement negotiations. McAloon & Friedman enjoys a reputation for aggressively and passionately defending its clients while always maintaining a professional and collegial tone. The firm’s partners are consulted by the Judiciary about initiatives and changes in the courts that are anticipated to impact the field. The firm has always been at the forefront of the campaign for justice for medical professionals who are too often wrongly accused.

Throughout its history, McAloon & Friedman has remained faithful to its core principles of providing sound legal advice, skillful representation, and a winning defense strategy.
